I think it really much-so depends on the game rather than putting them in a collage of other games. I think its more of how the game is interfaced to the user, and the users preference and\or their true enjoyment of the interface itself. I personally enjoy being abe to custom taylor a charachter around how i want to play (much like the Fallout series (3D) does). Unlike games such as Call of Duty where you play through the game and are given your objectives and tools to beat it, i enjoy picking my tools and my objectives in the order i see fit. Other may like to be given the orders to do things and if thats how you like to play than that is perfectly fine w me :) It just kind-of explains why im on modsreloaded.com ... Because i like to customize my play and give myself an edge where i think i need it.
So really to think that a "poll" of gamers who actually finish games, i believe, isnt as valid as a "poll" that would ask "how many gamers have finished game "_____X_____" would be a more plausible questions to as, in my opinion.

i complete well over 90% of my games. i dont complete some games due to i would of found them boring. and that is why i dont complete some. like if a game is not fun. why complete it. anyways. i get games for the story and gameplay. and some games take along time to complete anyways. like it took me years with slent hill 2 because i always would get scared when i saw pyramid head...:-P
anyways i am surprised its that low of a percentage for people completeing games. anyways. its their lost

I have had that on occasion, not usually because of mods per say, but sometimes the game just refuses to work correctly. Another issue that has kept me from finishing games is the way they are controlled or certain elements of gameplay that I may dislike. This is why I generally don't care for console ports unless they did a very good version for PC. There was one game.. don't recall the name now .. where you had to use your powers to be in 2 places at once. This required faster reflexes than I possess. In the end, I just got frustrated and quit playing the game altogether. Another one I recall because my husband gave it to me as a birthday gift. It was called Indigo Prophecy. It was interesting until I found out you have to be a whiz at playing Simon (yes the old kiddie color-coded memory game). In order to finish scenes you had to memorize fast and input even faster a sequence. I got so frustrated doing that over and over again that I quit the game.Saturn Celeste wrote:Same goes for why many gamers don't finish a game because of game malfunctions because they run too many mods, game crashes all the time and they lose interest.
If a game has cheats that let me get past the frustrating spots where I'm stuck, then it's no problem, but generally the only thing available for some of these console ports is trainers and they don't help when you need say a noclip cheat to get out from where you're stuck.
