Which quest is the most fun in Oblivion?
by Webslug » January 31st, 2009, 1:42 pm
As most of us have played Oblivion we all know there are numerous quests available for the player to engage in.
Out of all the quests which one did you find the most fun?

Well I haven't played Shivering Isles yet, but in the Vanilla Version, Whodunit? Dark Brotherhood quest with party guests. It's really well done, but I always feel kinda bad about Nels. :( Grant you Defense of Bruma modded to be a 20 minute battle as opposed to a 5 minute battle, that's my favorite Vanilla quest, but only when the vanilla quest is modded, so does it count as a mod quest? hrmmm... But yes 20 minute Defense of Bruma feels totally epic, and is my favorite, but only if it's modded to last 20 minutes.
Edit: Right Longer and Intense Defense of Bruma. It really makes that quest much more worthwhile, and believe me you'll need as many soldiers as you can get, as well as an extremely high Restoration skill, and Superior Convelesance in order to make sure Martin survives. :P
As for quest mods: Kvatch Aftermath by Giskard. It's really interesting, and a great quest to take once you beat the main quest. Basically Kvatch is rebuilding, and you being it's hero are chosen to be the next count or countess. Then you have to basically manage the city, rebuild the castle, stables, destroyed homes, manage trading negotiations with other cities, etc... You also get your own Steward, personal guard, you can host banquettes in the castle with emissaries from other cities, you even get your own jester! It's really cool and there's a lot more I'm not mentioning! But I mean you get a whole city to call home, and you get to be countess, what's not to love? |:D
Blood and Mud comes in at a close second. The quests are insanely hard at times, but still the fact it makes Bravil feel like an official expansion to the game, not to mention that gritty atmosphere. I can't help but love that mod. :)

I love whodunnit in Oblivion! My favorite part is killing off the characters one-by-one before that one Breton lady so I can make her suffer before having the dark elf kill her last! And they're all pathetic in combat. It only takes one hit to kill them all! I however, also like the Ultimate Heist quest in the Thieves Guild b/c the loot is great and those blind priests are so dumb, IMO! (giving you an Elder Scroll? WTH!??)
Typical video game translations:
¡Te quiero ver... con una bala en tu cabeza!
Je veux te voir... avec une balle dans ta tête!
I want to see you… with a bullet in your head!
(~I was bored and made this~)

I loved qhodunit. I used to keep a save just before the house so I could replay it whenever I wanted to. I liked fighting the blackwood company single handed though. That was great fun, it had a real atmosphere to it, jumping down staircases, dueling on stairs... really good fun.

My favourite would be the quest where you drop the moose head on that guy in Bruma for the Dark Brotherhood. Later on the Nord is seen crying in the local bar hehe
A close second would be the Dark Brotherhood quest of killing the prisoner in the imperial prison. He is not so smart now, is he? That will teach him to taunt & laugh at you at the start of the game.
