Which game is better? WOW or Guild Wars.

I've heard a lot about these two games however I've not played any of them.

The Wrath of the Lich King expansion has been out a while now and I was wondering what people thought of these games with all the expansions.

More fun quests, fewer idiots, it's not as time consuming, much better PvP. ^_^

To my view, you just can't answer such a question. WoW and Guild wars are deeply different games : GW is a CORPG (Competition Online RPG) whereas WoW is a MMORPG : it's like Oblivion and Halo, there's just no point to compare those games.

But - I prefer WoW because of its incredible backgrounds and stories. I have been playing Guild Wars two years, and the concept of PvE was pretty inexistant - whereas it is the main aspect of World of Warcraft. And WoW's PvP not so bad ! Just.. quite imbalanced :D

I did play Guild Wars a bit, and Kogane is 100% correct. Guild Wars is much more condensed than WoW. The fact that every area in Guild Wars outside cities is instanced really takes away any feel of huge open world that MMO's as a genre are all about. I cannot really comment on the differences on PvE/PvP since I never really got too much into Guild Wars. I mean I was playing my roommate's copy. So yes the two games certainly feel totally different from one another so you really can't compare them as MMO's, because in a way it's hard to categorize Guild Wars as an MMO.

I will say Guild Wars didn't hold my attention very long. As for WoW? EVIL!!! Evil on a level I never thought possible as I just felt recently... It's freaky addictive and not even all that much fun. o_O

I've always stayed away from online games precisely because of the addictive part. Mind you, I am a KOTOR fan and the upcoming Star Wars Tales of the Old Republic has got me itching about converting to online games.

On a side note, though I never played WOW either, the fan comics can be quite funny. Hmm, thats what this site could use is a fan comic page or even better, an online comic page. I suck at drawing though ;)
