What is your favorite online game?
by Keylek » October 27th, 2009, 4:43 pm
the topic is simple, what is your favorite online game? it can be any kind of game maybe even a web based game, it can be PC or on any of the consoles, just basically what is your favorite and why...
... like recently, i had another try with halo three on the xbox, if you are wondering why i gave it another try this is because the last time i played it, it was only a bunch of screaming 10 year olds screaming that they are the master chief and that everyone else apart from them are noobs, and this time when i tried it it was no different, still a bunch of noobs screaming at each other which gets me really angry because the game halo is beautiful, and the books are even better, but these noobs basically make halo three their b***h because they think it is *cool* and they are the best at it...
because of this i decided to go back to basics and use my brain abit. as i have just explained and alot of you already know, halo three is a bad game for multi-player because of all the underage kids cheating and screaming all the time, believe me it is like being at a children's playhouse [i would have said Michael jackson's house but i can say that any more...] so seeing that all the noobs are with halo 3, i then thought that there would not be as many noobs on halo 1 because the game is old, not as good graphics and also because noobs can not chat on it easy meaning there will be no screaming noobs, and it turns out i was correct, there are over 600 people usually still playing halo 1, but the thing is is that these people are good at playing the game, and who play the game because it is fun and not because it is *cool*.
like i have had alot of good maches on the online multi-player so far, like my favorite game type has to be capture the flag because you are having to work as a team and also because if you introduce missile launchers into the match to everyone it gets extremal brutal. so basically halo one has been perfect for me because you can work as a team, it is good fun even if you keep on dying or not, and points don't matter like xbox live because it really depends on how good you are, not how long you have been playing it for, and the best thing about it is that it is free, no stupid subscriptions, just connect up and play. it is really that simple, and it is this which has started some huge successes like the red vs blue series which still gets over 200,000 dollars annually from making funny videos on YouTube and a hell of alot more things, so i think halo one is the best multi-player for me, like i have tried loads of other multi player games like quake, but they do not seem to cut the same edge as halo one does. but not to forget the game itself requires a 32MB graphics card which is tiny and also it only wases one and a half GB meaning that even if your PC is slow, it will still work extremely well, and it even cost very little with Internet because if you play it for an hour, it will only waste 20MB meaning that it is perfect for me with that as well...
but now you must be bored with me drowning on about halo combat evolved [halo 1], so why don't you now say why you like a certain online game...

The only online games I've tried are Warbirds and Diablo 2 on Battle Net. I'd say Diablo was probably a favourite, unfortunately I don't get to play as many games these days as I used too.
I'm making maps for Armed Assault with what little spare time I have, I'm thinking about trying it online. Who knows, maybe I'll like it...
