World's worst websites
by Rebel O Conner » May 16th, 2011, 11:59 am
a webdesigner has made a site to show all the error not to do.
World's worst website
it's tips for beginner webdesigner, i guess.
but the forum reddit has elected another site, a true site, as the ugliest site ever created.
arngren.net
but some are awfull too, like Yvette's Wedding Dresses Panama City Florida Yvette's Yvette's ( with a long name like that, we could wait for something weird )
if you find a really ugly site, you can post a link here, it must have a really bad design but the content is not important.

what about bad site names :
All of these are legitimate companies that didn’t spend quite enough time considering how their online names might appear … and be misread.
These are not made up. Check them out yourself!
1. “Who Represents” is where you can find the name of the agent that represents any celebrity. Their Web site is www.whorepresents.com
2 Experts Exchange is a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at www.expertsexchange.com
3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at www.penisland.net
4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at www.therapistfinder.com
5. There’s the Italian Power Generator company, www.powergenitalia.com
6. And don’t forget the Mole Station Native Nursery in New South Wales , www.molestationnursery.com
7. If you’re looking for IP computer software, there’s always
www.ipanywhere.com
8. The First Cumming Methodist Church Web site is www.cummingfirst.com
9. And the designers at Speed of Art await you at their wacky Web site, www.speedofart.com

One mistake that web designers easily make, including myself is the assumption that everybody has a high resolution monitor.
With a top end system and a fast broadband connection I would imagine its easy to forget about users on the lower end of the scale.
The arngrent.net website mentioned above is over 5MB.
Documents (1 file) 478 KB
http://www.arngren.net/ 478 KB
Images (210 files) 5194 KB
Scripts (1 file) 669 bytes
Total 5673 KB

not really a worst website, but an idea to gain one million dollars.
Milliondollarhomepage
The Million Dollar Homepage is a website conceived in 2005 by Alex Tew, a student from Wiltshire, England, to raise money for his university education. The home page consists of a million pixels arranged in a 1000 × 1000 pixel grid; the image-based links on it were sold for $1 per pixel in 10 × 10 blocks. The purchasers of these pixel blocks provided tiny images to be displayed on them, a URL to which the images were linked, and a slogan to be displayed when hovering a cursor over the link. The aim of the website was to sell all of the pixels in the image, thus generating a million dollars of income for the creator. The Wall Street Journal has commented that the site inspired other websites that sell pixels.
