I found this neat little method for resizing images en masse using Ubuntu.
Open the directory containing the images to be scaled with Nautilus and select the images you want to resize. Then, right click and choose Open with "gThumb Image Viewer". When the program opens, press Ctrl-A to select all the images. Then, from the menu select - Tools - Scale Images... You will be presented a dialog that will ask you to specify a number of parameters like the new size, destination folder, etc. When done press the Scale button, seat back and enjoy the show.
If your images are not all of exactly the same size, remember to scale them using a percentage rather than a fixed pixel number.
It works great for me on Ubuntu 9.10. I hope it will save someone else a lot of time also...

Linux all the way baby!!!
Since moving to linux (thanks Webslug!!) i cant believe microsoft have such a monopoly, it is simple to navigate, upgrade, downgrade and there is so much help available on the internet!! When i first installed it i had a small problem which i couldnt sort myself, it was solved within 5 mins of going online. The community is exeptional! You dont get that with windows!
I do have to say i use windows for games, and with my small amount of ram ive found that you can navigate and open, close files and folders faster than Ubuntu, also watching films in Ubuntu they stutter and freeze, whereas in windows i dont get that.
Once i upgrade my ram, windows will only be for games!

I spent years developing applications to help navigate and defend the Windows operating system. There are literally thousands of programs to help secure it.
In the end I realized I was attempting to build an entire operating system. Why re-invent the wheel? Ubuntu provided everything I needed and more. No more Spyware or Viruses, its heaven.
Now I seriously can't understand why people would choose Windows over Ubuntu.

I gots a dual boot setup - Win7 and linux mint. I use win for games and linux for everything else. It's a lot safer browsing the net with linux, though getting the two to play nice together was a pain. win7 is a big improvement over vista, gotta say it might even be better than xp but there are still some annoying issues with it and getting it to do what you want instead of doing what is expects you to want. Mint on the other hand is a blast to use, very easy to configure and modify :)
There is no such thing as a stupid question, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

hmm, shame on me, I didn't update my series lately at all.
I will concentrate on something else now and write some reviews as well.
Once I have the time, I will update this series as well, but please be patient. After all, self test require time to be objective instead of subjective.
But some information so far:
I tried Ubuntu 10.4, Fedora 12, Gentoo and Debian and started to like later one. Now, I can say that the question which distribution someone wants to use heavily depends on how much afford that person wants to invest.
More on this later though ^.-
A "Playing on Linux" update will also follow soon, hope that you're looking forward to it

You see it too? For me, it's always like this... -- Angela Orosco, Silent Hill 2
Didn't we promise each other? Together.....forever.... -- Mio Amakura/Yae Kurosawa, Project Zero 2
