Police investigating Mount & Blade Gangs of Glasgow

A popular mod for medieval RPG Mount & Blade -- 'Gangs of Glasgow' -- has caught the attention of the Scottish authorities. The project -- which parodies the 1980 Old Firm riot between soccer aka football fans and features "hooligans in Rangers and Celtic tops running amok with iron bars, boulders, bottles and knives" -- is now under investigation by police.



"Links to the game have been passed to the relevant department for officers to examine," a spokeswoman for the Strathclyde police force said. "If any criminality is established, appropriate action will be taken."

"I am delighted that the Sunday Mail has highlighted this so action can be taken," said Scottish Police Federation boss Les Gray.

On the possibility of action being taken against his mod back in April, creator Flanged said, "Doubt a mod taking the piss out of both sides would be punishable by law, and it sounds illegal and unenforceable anyway, but the Old Firm has been getting a bit crazy recently with bombs being posted to various folk, so Part 2 will probably be rated PG-13."
