Rogue and Mage Swords

This mod modifies the "Shard Of The Fallen" dagger and the "Voracity" staff into using the Fadeshear or DAO elven longsword model, AND retaining their dual weapons and staff animations for stances, attacks, talents and spells. Now compatible with any other mods that modifies the item_variation.gda file!

Rogue & Mage Sword Mod for Dragon Age 2 by Gogadantes
-----------------------------------------------------

Being a Miyamoto Musashi fan and a Rogue player in DAO, I was annoyed when I found out that rogues in DA2 can't dual wield longswords. Sure, there's a mod out there that removes all weapon restrictions for all classes, but when you bust out your rogue special moves, there'd be no special animation. And with the ability to add talent trees with the console, I'm also intrigued to make my player a 'Spellsword' character of some sort. That's why I made this.

This mod modifies the "Shard Of The Fallen" dagger and the "Voracity" staff into using the Fadeshear or the Overland Render (the Elven Sword model from DAO) model (why Shard of The Fallen and Voracity? because personally I think the models look like crap. why Fadeshear? Why, because it is awesome).

BUT, unlike a regular model swap, with this mod your character will still perform their dual weapons and staff animations for stances, attacks, talents and spells.

Installation: Copy ONE of your chosen item_variations.gda file to your override folder.
Uninstallation: Delete the file.

Usage: With the Vaddi script installed, in-game, turn on the console (I know you can find the information on how to enable the console in a bajillion other places inside or outside of this site. I have faith in you.), and type "runscript vaddin shard of the fallen" or "runscript vaddin voracity" (without quotation marks) for the dagger and the staff version, respectively. Choose 'Take All' on the loot box that appears out of thin air. Do it again once more for the dagger for another copy of the weapon, if you like. Enjoy.
[On a side note, for those who like to have a 'bare-handed mage' look, use the 'vaddin' command and type "Spine" (without quotation marks) for Airhert's Spine, an in-game staff without a model/texture, making it effectively invisible.]

Pretty much Required:

1. The (excellent, excellent) Vaddi script by Thought Process - unless you want to wait patiently to come across these items in the game the legit way, which I don't even know when, where or how.

Basically this script gives you 2 new commands in the console:
runscript vaddi "whole/partial item file name"
and
runscript vaddin "whole/partial in-game item name"
(without quotation marks)

2. The Hide Weapons 2 mod by DarkenDE, specifically the 'Hide Only Staff' variant - unless you want to look mentally problematic while sheathing your Voracity staff.

IMPORTANT:
For those who wants to learn how to do this with other models, this is where I learned this from:
