New WoW Expansion? World of Warcraft - The Cataclysm?

I was browsing Youtube and stumbled upon a Machinima video on Youtube that was poking fun at Wrath of The Lich King before it was released. In the comments someone mentioned something about a new expansion. This was a the Pre-WoTLK Machinima video I was watching by the way,




So anyway after watching the video up there, which I found kind of funny, I read a few of the comments and noticed one or two about this so-called new expansion. Out of morbid curiosity I decided to research this. What shocked me is there was a lot of MMO news sites and a few digs reporting consistent information about a new expansion titled World of Warcraft - The Cataclysm. Now much of the news was fragmented but the site that seemed to pull all the pieces together was mmo-champion.com.

Supposedly this information was mistakenly leaked by Blizzard, or perhaps deliberately to create hype? I'm not sure it's all still very sketchy, and unconfirmed.

However apparently there will be no new continents in this expansion, but instead Azeroth under siege by Deathwing. If you are unfamiliar with WoW Lore he's the father of Nefarious, the raid boss from Black Wing Lair, which was a big 40 man raid hotspot in Blackrock Spire back pre-BC. Basically Deathwing is like the leader of sorts of The Black Dragon Flight, and participated in The War of The Ancients. If memory serves me correctly he became twisted and corrupted with evil by The Burning Legion. Don't quote me on that it's been a while since I actually roleplayed in WoW.

A few details about this alleged expansion.

- Level Cap Will be Raised to 85
- 2 new races: Goblins for Horde and Domesticated Worgan (Wolf People) for Alliance
- New Classes added to older Races, for Example Night Elf Mages, Gnome Priests, Blood Elf Warriors, Human Hunters etc...

Just a little bit of info. However keep in mind this has not been officially announced yet. It may be a very elaborate hoax, or it may actually be for real. Honestly I wouldn't throw it by Blizzard to begin working on a new expansion less than a year after they released their last one. The company has become greedier, and greedier. The more money they made with WoW the faster they started spitting out expansions, and neglecting quality control, which the company once prided its self on.

WoTLK has become so monotonous apparently, that even my Big Sis in California stopped playing. I mean she was a WoW fanatic, she was in The Beta for the original game, Burning Crusade, and WotLK! She had 7 80's, Hunter, Rogue, Paladin, Druid, Shaman, Warrior, and Death Knight all heavily geared. She used to be like a WoW addict but even she got bored with the game and actually quit recently. Just a few months ago actually. "WoW just isn't what it used to be." She said to me. She's moved on to Team Fortress 2 for now, and is excited about City of Champions, and the new KOTOR MMO. Nevertheless true or not Blizz is going to dump a new expansion in our laps soon enough. I say they should wait until players at the very least get a chance to experience "End Game" content before rushing an expansion. I mean while Big Sis did, I never made it to Black Temple. Then again she played a lot more than I did.

Anyway here's the article, and again remember this is unconfirmed. Blizzard themselves refuses to comment on it. If it is true it will be be confirmed at Blizzcon,
