Project Bubbles
by RevRaptor » October 28th, 2010, 9:19 am
I'm working on a mod of a nerf maverick to turn it into a steam punk styled automatic bubble gun.

so far I've stripped down the maverick and given it its first coat of vinyl dye. As you can see I've removed the chamber assembly, the next step is to replace it with a custom made one with the internals of the bubble gun stuffed in side it and start doing the detail work on the maverick.
stay tuned for more pics.

There is no such thing as a stupid question, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

Today I ripped apart the bubble gun and modified the internals to fit into their new housing.
I removered the speaker (as it was really annoying) and did some soldering to tidy everything up. I've switched from AA batteries to AAA as they will fit better into the space I have chosen for them, I'm using the arming slide as a cover for the battery compartment. I still need to do some cutting and triming of the internal spaces to make everthing fit.
I placed some of the external components on the frame to give me some idea of the final look. Unfortunately I has to wait for the rest of the parts to arrive via mail before I can finish it. So for now all I can do is paint and finish the exterior and sculpt the new beds for the internal parts.
