Whatever family you played just before leaving the game, will be the first family the Editor will feature. I was playing the Lessen family.

To change families, just click on the pull down menu to the left and go to Households.

Since I have a brand new, unplayed game, the families listed show their default names. Once you play or change a family, they show up as the household name in the list instead of the Excel/PV/Households: Family stuff

The Goth Family is MY most played family of the Sims3. When I go into how to edit the sims, you'll see why.

Now you have the Goth family information listed.

Find the + in front of mMembers and click on the +, that opens up the household sims.

Click on the + in front of Gunther's name and that opens up his information.

Scroll down and you'll see a + mDisplayedShape, usually under that is the Zodiac, it says mZodiac and click on the sign which is Aries for all default sims.

I base my relationships on the Sims2 zodiac compatibility.

Now the sign has changed.

Now it's Cornelia's turn.

I always make her a Gemini because they are incompatible with Capricorn. More on their relationship later.

Now for Mortimer, we know he's a Cancer from the Sims2.

Time to save the family.

Make sure it is set for All Files.

Save it to the .nhd file. Overwrite.

Say yes.

Say OK to the warning!

Save As again.

Save As to the sgebackup file! Overwrite, this step is crucial, if you don't Save As twice, the game won't start, your hood will be gone!

Say Yes.

If you have done the Save As steps correctly, you will only get ONE warning, when you Save As the second time over the backup file, you don't get the warning again. There have been a few situations where the game broke itself (it does that alot) and I was able to restore through the backup, not always but once in awhile so it's a good thing to use the Neighborhood Workshop! If you have any questions about this program, just ask.
