=============================================
LYCANTHROPE - The Werewolves of Cyrodiil v1.0
=============================================
by StannieDum

Werewolf creatures designed by jcarl904

Dragon Claw Sword and Shield designed by jojjo
(Re-named in this mod to The Ice King sword and shield).

DESCRIPTION
-----------

This mod adds a new species to Oblivion.

The Lycanthropes are a race of werewolves that have infested the entire northern wilderness areas of Cyrodiil. Their natural habitat runs east to west across the entire northern hemisphere and high up into the frozen peaks of the Jerall mountains.

This of course means that unmounted or unaccompanied travel in these regions for a low-level character becomes effective suicide, as the creatures (which often hunt in packs) will persist in the assault and absolutely will not stop until the victim is slain. They are tough, fast and strong and this is by design. I deliberately made this mod to be difficult and realistic (as far as that is possible with mythological creatures like werewolves, of course). Be sure to read the posters on the north gate and the cathedral door in Bruma for more information. The way to go is to try and avoid these creatures where possible, but if you really must enter into combat with them, be sure that your character is up to it!!

The Lycanthrope will not usually venture further south than the northernmost regions of Cyrodiil but as with everything in life, there are always rare exceptions and an odd rogue or two may possibly be sighted from time to time in more southern areas.

There are approximately 70 individual creatures scattered throughout the northern region, and these will re-spawn after 3 in-game days.

In addition to many lone wandering specimens, the creatures can sometimes be found in 'clans where they have laid claim to an area and set up a family. Needless to say, these clans should be avoided at all costs by any sane traveler (insane gamers are another matter though!!).

Legend also tells of a single lone god-like creature that is supposed to inhabit an area somewhere high in the north eastern region of the Jerall mountains. Many-a-traveller has indeed attempted to confirm or deny the existence of such a beast, but to date none has returned alive from the area in order to tell his tale. Perhaps the time has come for another attempt?

There are also other tales told of great riches that once belonged to an ancient and evil king of the long-extinct Ayleid civilization. Legend has it that this Ice King as he was referred to, fled with his treasures to the high Jeralls, after being forced from the throne and was never heard of again.

These legends are there for you to explore at will. Note however that this mod contains no quests or clues to follow (this may come in a later version). You will get the occasional on-screen message or map marker, but only after you've explored for yourself and this you will have to do if you wish to seek out legendary creatures and treasures. As stated previously, your only information is 'somewhere high in the north eastern region of the Jerall mountains... but I would say that Bruma is a good starting point.

And that, dear player is your lot.

HAPPY HUNTING!
