Which game do you think is better?

Kotor 1 vs Kotor 2

There are vast differences between the two Knights of the old Republic 2 game. Which do you think is better and why?

I first played Kotor 2 way back in 2005 on my 1.4 Athlon XP. It was a great game and I've previously played Dark Forces 2, Outcast & Jedi Academy. All fun games.

Recently I realized that there was quite a divide between the popularity of Kotor 1 & 2.
Which game do you think is better?

Who knows you may even persuade me to go out and buy Kotor 1...

i got knights of the old republic 1 from a pre-owned shop called CEX recently, it is very good, but the only reason i got it is because i could not find the second one when i was there, this must be because the second one is alot more popular then the first, the graphics are slightly better, the game is longer, the storyline is also quite good and also there are alot more mods available for it as well. so i think i like the second one better. but the first one did start it off, but truly the second one is better, but i am sure when "knights of the republic" comes out, it will just wipe the floor with them both...

KOTOR 2 was an unfinished rushed game. Sure it was flashier, more and cooler powers. I actually thought that 1 was longer though, hmmm.

They both had top notch stories, although I think I liked 2's better although 1 had the great twist). 1 had better music, 2 had some slightly cooler characters. 1 had better side quests. 2 did have the cool apprentices thing though, nice!

In the end though, 2 was rushed and unfinished. If the mod is ever finished that adds the old content back in, that would rock. It should also be posted here ;)

I must give it to 1, as 2 felt.. wanting. It felt unfinished and I felt cheated. I was let down. I didnt get the conclusion I needed, and was left with questions. Plus 1 had thet dance Malaak cheat lol! You can tell by my avatar who I thought had the best boss though ;)

I've been hoping to try the Restored Content Mod when I get a chance, I remember reading that it adds a whole new planet with numerous new quests. Apparently the developers for Kotor 2 had not finished it and it was left locked away hidden in the game. A talented team of modders got together and finished what they had started.

I loved Kotor 2 and anything to increase the longevity and life span of the game is a welcome addition for me. Martian recently told me that they were remaking the Jade Empire game which was directly created from the Kotor 2/NWN 2 engine.
