How to Install OBSE for Oblivion

OBSE (Oblivion Script Extender) is an essential plugin for a large number of the mods for the Elder Scrolls Oblivion game. Here is a brief guide on how to successfully install it.

Download the Oblivion Script Extender

First download OBSE and extract the Zip to a temporary folder.

Find your Oblivion folder

Next, find your oblivion folder (Usually C:\Program Files\Bethesda Software\Oblivion) and keep it open so you can easily copy files to it.

Copy the files to your Oblivion folder

Finally, find the following files (in the temporary folder) and copy them to your Oblivion folder:

obse_loader.exe
obse_1_2_416.dll
obse_1_2.dll
obse_1_1.dll
obse_editor_1_2.dll
obse_editor_1_0.dll
(all 5 dll's and 1 exe)

Note: You do not need any of the other files, just these dll's and the exe.

OBSE is now installed. Whenever you want to use a mod that requires OBSE, you must start Oblivion through the "obse_loader.exe"! Failure to do so will prevent such mods from working.

And it's working as well for steam version and for DVD version.
