How much information is there in the world?

Figures released last year by the technology analysts IDC estimate that the total of all electronically stored information, our data universe, is 1.2 billion terrabytes (a terrabyte being 1000 gigabytes). The world's data would fill a stack of DVDs reaching to the Moon and back. The digital universe has grown by nearly two thirds in the last year. Within 10 years, it will have grown to 35 billion terrabytes, meaning that that stack of DVDs would then stretch halfway to Mars. And 15 percent of it will be stored and manipulated in the Cloud via online services like Amazon and Google. In 2020, the online space will contain three times as much data as there is in the entire world today.

Wait, we have that many resources on earth? What's the deal with running out of them, then? :p
Typical video game translations:

¡Te quiero ver... con una bala en tu cabeza!
Je veux te voir... avec une balle dans ta tête!
I want to see you… with a bullet in your head!
