This mod scales down everything in Dawn of War by half, including all units, buildings, speeds, and weapon/ability ranges; unit caps, however are
increased. This lets you fight massive battles, with larger armies, on effectively huge maps! You now have a choice of playing with doubled or tripled unit caps. This also lets you build/summon more Avatars, Squiggoths, and Bloodthirsters, as well as Gretchins, Heretics, Apothecaries and Mad Doks. The AI has been tweaked to let it take full advantage of these increases. Half Scale can also easily be played with the Dawn of Skirmish AI mod. Simply choose the option from the Game Manager or Start Menu. You'll need to install Dawn of Skirmish separately, available here:

=== Smaller units, Grander Battles ===

This mod scales down everything in Dawn of War by half, including all units,
buildings, speeds, and weapon/ability ranges; unit caps, however are

Run the installer and choose your Dawn of War directory. Once you're done,
run Dawn of War normally and select the Game Manager from the Main Menu.
Choose the version of Half Scale you'd like to play: Half Scale with double
or triple unit caps, and with or without the Dawn of Skirmish AI Mod.

This version is for Dawn of War 1.4. For previous versions, please see the

You can remove the mod by running the uninstaller from the Start Menu, from
the half_scaleuninstall directory, or from the Windows Add/Remove Program

* squad formation spacing (set to 2/3 size to prevent excessive collisions)
* multiple squad formation spacing
* response ranges relating to melee/range combat and stances
* weapon hardpoints
* unit melee_sizes
* selection circles/boxes and volumes


Things that were deliberately not rescaled:

* building sight ranges
* building control ranges
* The following ability damage radii (but activation ranges are still
halved)
- Space Marine Orbital bombardment
- Eldar Psychic Storm
- Eldar Eldritch Storm
- Chaos Doombolt
- Chaos Symbol of Chaos
- Chaos Corruption
* Bonesong combat effect radius
* Ork pop tech requirements

The reason for the above not being changed is because I feel the fact that
there's a lot of room on the map now makes it better for gameplay not to
change these.


Other changes:

* Units caps doubled / tripled
* multiple Avatars, Squiggoths, and Bloodthirsters can be built/summoned
* caps increased for Gretchins, Apothecaries, Heretics, Mad Doks
* Squad/Support Cap upgrades/buildings adjusted for cap increase
