Re: Gaming Trivia - things you might not have known

Dude! You can't just bang out a list that huge... It puts other gaming dorks at a disadvantage.

Silent Hill - Did you know the devs of original Silent Hill were greatly influenced by the 1990 horror movie, Jacobs Ladder?

Silent Hill 4- Did you know "Silent Hill 4: The Room" was originally going to be a stand alone horror title just called "The Room" that had nothing to do with the Silent Hill Franchise? That the only reason it became Silent Hill 4 is because the publishers felt the game would sell better if it carried the name of the franchise, so in turn the publishers strong armed the developers to scrap their original project only called, "The Room" and turn it into the fourth Silent Hill installment. This in turn lead to a lot of bad blood between the publisher and the developers of Silent Hill, and that is why the original developers refused to make another Silent Hill game, and why it was exported to foreign developers in The States.

Final Fantasy 7 - Did you know the major inspiration for the storyline of this most notable game was spurred by the death of Hironobu Sakaguchi's mother the creator of the game, during it's early development? In turn he changed the original story to convey even with death a person's soul can still go on. Thus the concept of the Lifestream and such was put into the game. He used the character Aerith as a catalyst to truly convey how he felt while writing the games story, and to this day it remains one of the most memorable storylines in gaming history.
