For me Blade Runner is not about special effects, grant you I am a sucker for cyber-punk and Blade Runner was pioneer in that genre. Nevertheless it's not about effects it's about what it means to be human. The dove at the ending, I say no more... Just watch... That moment for me was so cathartic for me.
As for Blade, as in the movie adaptation of the comic book. GAH! Awful, just more Hollywood trash I rather ignore. It rots the brain.
Just me though. *shrugs*

Then I probably didn't get the story of Blade Runner at all. It was just too boring for me. But my wife also says all the time that my movie taste is too blood-thirsty.

I didn't find Blade Runner entertaining, its strange because I love scifi and action.
I think I'd have to watch it again to give a fair opinion. Fight Club was awesome.
I'm looking forward to the Avatar film due out next year.
There are rumours that they are making a film based on Diablo from Blizzard, should be interesting...

I'm really impatient and have been looking forward to the new airbender film due out this summer. It looks amazing, I've been a big fan of the cartoon series.
