Dusaar: Realm of Nemain'Airmid (Project Canceled )
by Strange Angel » April 23rd, 2009, 1:07 pm
So I finally got the D U N E mod installed and running properly. I went through a whole song and dance to get this working, not to mention find the fix for the missing tree textures was a headache. Anyway I think I'm in love. This mod is simply breathtaking! Perfect for Llunette's realm when she becomes a Daedric Prince. However, while the mod comes with a huge world space to build off of, it's pretty empty overall. Not much there, and since the forums for this mod seemed to have vanished, and I'm guessing the author abandoned the project all I have to work with are the resources in the mod its self.
In a nutshell tweaking is going to cut it with this mod. There's only two NPC's an empty town, just not very much but a lot of desert. So I'm going to have to learn how to create architecture, insert NPC's, add schedules, just a lot. This is going to be a huge project for me, but it's kind of exciting. Here are some screenshots of Nemain'Airmid aka Llunette in her realm.
I love the guards armor! There's quite a bit of cool clothing, but the author made all female clothing for the UFF body. I may need to call upon someone who's good with meshes to refit the female clothing for HGEC C-cup, M lower body.

Llunette overlooking one of the smaller settlements at night. It's kind of barren right now, and it has no interiors, so yeah I'm going to be busy,
Llunette' err Nemain'Airmid hovering over the desert at night, and some shots of the sky. I love the sky!
The guards look pretty cool, but I want to give them a more Daedric look so I will likely tweak the race of the guards. You know how Oblivion has Dremora, the Shivering Isles has Golden Saint's and Dark Seducers. Well I think this realm needs it's own Daedric guardians as well. I want to split them between maybe dark and light. Use kind of a demonic race, and kind of celestial race for all the guards.
I plan to base a major city near the Stargate, as well as create an NPC guardian for the gate as well. The city around the gate will be this worlds capital. The guards will use the DMC Stylish animations for their attacks reflecting their rulers fighting style. However the inhabitants I'm thinking may be the Ayelid's of Tamerial. They will feel a call to this realm when it's created... They will consist of Mystic elves, they will also have MAO applied to them.
Since their numbers are so tiny there won't be many NPC's in the world, just scattered provinces safe from the the dangers of the deep desert. As well as the capital city around the Stargate, which will be overlooked by a very powerful being Llunette has charged with guarding the gate its self, from possible enemy Daedric Princes who may have a grudge against her. Like Dagon for example. After all Llunette did a kamikaze light thing on him which banished him from Tamerial, when Akatosh failed to defeat him. The Realm of the Oblivion would be enemies to the realm of Dusaar. Llunette will have a large share of enemies, Sithis the enigmatic deity as well. Hence the gate must be protected by a powerful being, and a legion of Llunette's Daedric soldiers. However since this is the point of entrance into her realm, the Ayelid's drawn to Dusaar to start anew will built their largest settlement there, their capital city.
The Daedric guardians are not under any circumstances permitted to interfere with the affairs of the mortal residents, thier duty is to protect them from outsiders, but not from themselves. In the end Llunette allows them to choose how to rebuild their civilization, for better or for worse.
The palace of Nemain'Airmid will float over the realm Duusar its self. It is their Nemain'Airmid aka Llunette will reside, I'll need to build the whole thing. The only access to the castle for mortals is to travel deep into the deserts, which is dangerous to say the least and find the city of Oasis. A paradise hidden in the desert, there they must consult Llunette's mortal council The Matriarch. Some try to journey to Oasis to live in a paradise, where water is rich and the politics of Dusaar do not apply. It's basically a huge religious city where the devout worship Nemain'Arimid, and if one proves themselves worthy the may be granted passage to the gateway that leads to Llunette's palace and be granted audience with the realms Goddess herself.
I need to do a lot of world building, but yes for the most part I want the worldspace to be barren with only a few small settlements, and the major city. The rest is perilous desert, with sand storms that can rend flesh from bone. All kinds of vicious brutal monsters in also lurk in the deep deserts, I have resources to add them, but I want it to be dangerous outside The Capital, and it's nearby settlements. I want the deep deserts themselves to be perilous and almost suicidal for any mortal to try to venture through. It makes finding The Oasis all the more rewarding.
Suffice to say I'm going to be busy with this for a long time. A flood of ideas hit me when I started exploring Dusaar. When I finish building it I may perhaps if anyone wants release the realm to friends for private use. But I can't release it publicly as a mod due to the authors wishes. It likely wouldn't have any quests, but it would have a lot you could explore, and maybe a little reward if you manage to make it to Oasis, and are granted audience with Nemain'Airmid. Like a psychotically powerful item you could earn.
So I have some building to do, but it's kind of fun, and it's about time I learn how to do things like that with the CS. If I get good at it I could maybe help Keylek with his mod too.

Well I found a race for the guards,
Andromenus Race
http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17556
Basically beings with steel skin, which is kind of cool. Also they look good in the guard armor. Some concept shots, as I plan to tweak the race a little before adding them into the Dune mod.
(click on the pictures to enlarge)
Female Guard,
Male Guard
Stargate Guardian
The stargate guardian is going to be much larger as you can see, and much more powerful than the normal guards, I'll probably give his weapon a crazy glowing enchant too, and add a few little odds and ends aside from his massive size to make him look a wee bit more intimidating, as he's supposed to be a very powerful being in charge of guarding the gate from trespassers. Since these are Daedric beings that uphold the peace in the realm, by keeping enemies to Nemain'Airmid out, I need to come up with a cool name for them too. Maybe Titans or Sentinels. But so far so good I guess, I still have a load of work to do. o_o

Still working on it, but I did refine the Sentinel's and Guardian of the Gate a bit more. Basically there will be a lot of Sentinels guarding the Stargate its self, and the Gatekeeper will likely patrol around the area, I'll give him some room because he's huge. The entire Capital city will be built around the gate, but it's kind of a no access zone to mortals, unless they get permission from Nemain'Airmid firsthand. Reasone being is the gate its self is very volatile, and without Llunette's direct concentration on it, it could invite enemies in.
As you can see the Sentinel's are like steel sentient statues. Also they're tough and huge...
A normal female Sentinel in comparison to the Gray Prince... She makes him look like a child,
The Guardian of the Gate in comparison, yes he's huge!
I'm about ready to integrate them into the mod. I did adjust the Sentinel's height slightly. They're still huge, but Keylek made a good point to me, they were so huge before they could get stuck on things. Very true considering I had to crouch with that female Sentinel just to open the door to the Bloodworks, and don't even ask how I got the gate keeper in there *coughcoccough*
Even with the adjustment they're still taller by far than any vanilla race, but they can actually get through a door without crouching now.
The Gatekeeper on the other hand is still ginormous, but I plan to give it a lot of room. It will just patrol in circles around the Gate.

Jeeze just to add a race... This mod is really hard to err mod. Likely because it uses two esps, and I got confused about load order. But I was following the load order I think it told me to follow. Argghhh I hope I don't wind up with conflicts. I did wind up with no ground at all in Tamerial due to an esp to esm conversion miscalculation. But now I'm pretty sure I have everything in order, and this mod should not effect anything in Tamerial. It's first on the load order because it needs to be since it was made with another language, and if I put it lower I get muted voices. Anyway I finally added The Sentinel's, now I'm going to have to take a major crash course in world building 101, but it was possible to add the Sentinel's to this mod.
Here they are saluting their Goddess at The Stargate. Next I'm going to add the Gate Guardian and see what I can do about pathing, and try to make him patrol around the Gate's structure. I also want to add Sentinel's all over the top of the temple housing the gate. Anyway they are big, mostly because I want them to be kind of sentient statue Daedric beings. The make Llunette look very tiny, but she could kill them pretty easily with some of her spells.
