nice looks like it will do the trick.
There is no such thing as a stupid question, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

Yeah it will definately do the job, i downloaded and installed MSI afterburner to keep an eye on my temperatures, its an awesome program, used alongside the new fan it should keep things pretty cool and hopefully allow me to increase some settings.

Ok, i have my card working again finally!
I bought the above fan which stated that it fits on the 9800series cards, however it didnt fit on my GT, the exhausts where blocked by components on the card, so it didnt lie flush.
Also my CPU heatsink is massive and has a huge clumsy plastic outer air flow thingy which blocks almost the whole centre of my mother board, including this new fan.
So i had to purchase another fan, i did a bit more research and found this

Once i had it on my card i found that it was blocked by the stupid airflow casing on the cpu heatsink, my crude measurements where off by just under a cm :(
After about a day of wondering what to do i decided to attack the cpu heatsink airflow casing, which also has the job of attaching the heatsink to the cpu chip by means of 2 hinges, and 4 screws into the motherboard.
I hacked the hell out of, taking of 1 hinge and 2 sides of the casing, the underneath and the side facing the graphics card, the fan on the left of the gpu cooler sits underneath the exposed cpu heatsink which now means there are two fans working on the cpu heatsink and my graphics card fits :D
Yay for DIY, it might not look pretty but its does the job!
Pics may follow if\when i get them off my phone
