Mod Description

*****************************************************************

The objective of this mod is to make magic feel more powerful by increasing the projectile speeds of "on target" spells. This improves your accuracy against moving targets, but also applies to your enemies. This mod greatly improves the feeling of risk that comes with facing a caster in battle, as it takes care of the faulty aiming system (sidestepping one inch just as they cast, and they shoot into the wall).

The only thing more unique than a game is the variety of players that use it. With this in mind, I've included extensive options with this mod:

Dry: This set increases projectile speeds equally with no bias regarding the type of spell being cast.

Status Effect Bias: This set places a bias on Status Effect style spells, making it easier to hit your opponent with debuff spells (and vice versa). Status effect spells will be 100% of the increased speed, whereas Damage style spells will be 75% of the increase.

Damage Bias: This set focuses on faster damage spells. Your fireballs will scream for your opponent, while your attempts at debuffs like paralysis will take longer to reach them. Damage style spells will be 100% of the increase, while status effect spells will be 75%.

Speeds: Each style folder contains three files; 150, 200, 250.

These are percentages of the original value in Oblivion. If you only want slightly faster projectile spells, 150 will suit you well.

The others are less noticeable from a casting standpoint, but you will definitely feel a huge difference when you attempt to dodge an enemy's spell.

Version History

1.0: First release. This should be all that needs to be done.

I am entertaining balancing out the debuff spells in the damage bias set to be based on their usefulness (paralysis will fly the slowest, whereas a "weaken to fire" would fly faster).
