Got 3 hard drives atm, 250GB PATA (system), 250GB PATA (important data) and 500GB SATA2 (music & sys page file). All are Hitachi and all had 3-year warranty (now expired). Never had any problems with them.
Having PATA drive for system is bad and kills performance so I'm thinking about buying two 120GB SATA2 drives and make 240GB ultra fast drive via RAID. That should give me an significant performance boost.
SSD drives are too damn expensive atm, wont buy 'em anytime soon.
Also have an old 1,2GB Quantum Fireball in my media pc (just system and players) - 16 years old drive and still working like first day. :)
And my old 40GB Maxtor on which electronics malfunctioned so I'm trying to find identical one and replace them. I have plenty of important stuff on it, including my TES III mods, custom Warcraft III maps, 2000+ 3D models, recorded demo music,... :(

Nice, are you finding its enough space for your needs? I wish I had a 32 MB cache on my drive. The 500GB model I have only has a 16 MB cache.

well this doesn't really pose much more then a lifted eye brow to me , as the standings are im sure most will be going to SSD in the future and the 10k&15K hdds will soon work their way down to standard pc developements,
me personally i run a pair of 75GB Raptors 1 for O/S and the other for my Games
the rest are divided amongst 7 internal 1.5TB hdds, i dont have any issues other then speeds with formating ...and most of my stuff is in the form of saving mods, whether i use them or not, I used to be a back up server for Woodys2000.com which was primarily a Roguespear and Ghost Recon 1 server back in the day, however most of those files are scattered across some 700CDR's no joke, now i mainly use them to store some of the more or rather rare Oblivion files i can get my hands on...
