Fallout New Vegas 4GB
=====================

FNV4GB is a tool to load Fallout New Vegas with the Large Address Aware executable flag set so the entire 4GB Virtual Memory Address Space can be used by the game.

This is designed to be used by players with 64 Bit Versions of Windows. Usage on 32 bit Windows is unlikely to work (will run but wont incress the address space).

I make no guarentees whether or not this will work long term for all players. The way it works may get broken if Steam, the game or Windows updates. I've only tested it using the current version of the Steam, the Game and Windows 7 x64 as of the day this was posted.

FNV4GB is licensed under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License version 2.1. Read the included lgpl-2.1.txt for the terms. Source code is included with the package. Original binaries compiled using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005.

FNV4GB additionally hooks and replaces the Windows GetTickCount() function that may improve stuttering.

Update Details
--------------

Version 1.2: Explicitly sets the system timer to 3 ms while running to ensure, rather than just assuming, timeGetTime() will have better accuracy than GetTickCount()

Version 1.1: Stopped 32 bit systems from showing an error when they don't actually increase the address space when the LAA bit is set.

Running
-------
Just run FNV4GB.exe to launch the game! You don't even need it in the games directory, just make sure fnv4gb.exe and fnv4gb_helper.dll are together.

If your version of Fallout New Vegas is not the standard version with the SteamAppID of 22380 you need to run fnv4gb.exe and specify the actual SteamAppID on the command line. Example: fnv4gb.exe 22380

Technical Details
-----------------

Read the included readme for details on how it works.
